What a year it's been.
For those peeps on Facebook, it's been great keeping
posted about your everyday life.
Miles afar, and time means nothing anymore
thanks to technology.
FB experience my brother George. Wonderful man and family. Haven't
been in touch with him for 32 years! So I refuse to hear any complaints
about FB!
We were blessed to help out a couple of friends with our guestroom
at the beginning of this year, while they decided their next move from Costa Rica.
By Spring, we were busy planting all our garden beds, which yielded just about
everything we ate for six months, and is still producing peas and grape tomatoes!
The Solar Panel system we started in November 2009, finally got installed in April.
Amazing performance so far.
Our summer was spent every spare moment at the beach. We are the truest
Beach Pods you'll ever meet. We call our "Westfalia" the Beach Condo, and
just hang out with b'que's, and reading, flying kites, walking, beading, photo
taking, there's never a dull moment. I mean, if you don't visit the beaches
what's the point of living on the gorgeous southern Oregon coast?
By fall, we had a couple of our beloved pet family pass on, for those of you who knew,
Baby Chi' was only 6 years old, she passed in April,
and Thunder was 14 1/2, we lost her in October.
Her sister Lightning is still with us, and we're both missing those girls very much. Now we have Bizzie, and she is just that, very busy. Boots is still "the Man" of the house, and doing fine.
I turned the big "Six O" so I'm now officially OLD! I feel great, and can move
as if I'm 30, thanks to my devotion to yoga practice. Otherwise I'd feel my age
no doubt.
The mini horses are as easy, loving, and comical as always, and all three are
well and happy.
We continue to have lots of children around, thank goodness for young friends!
Bill continues to be "Mr. Wonderful."
I've posted a couple of videos of Bill climbing and sailing. He'll join all the other
nuts in the New Year's day swim, in our frigid Pacific Ocean.
I've gotten a few paintings done this year, and continue to paint, bead, not much
sewing, (although I have a few projects lined up) cook, practice yoga, walk, andwork part-time at my job. I'm very fortunate to be able to work from home, which
gives me my own schedule. I've also been hired by our community college to teach
jewelry classes. That has been a very fun surprise! For peeps who want to
see my attempts at painting, http://lindalaverty.com/Linda's_Paintings.html
We traveled to outstanding Vancouver, B.C. in June, and are planning to visit
again sometime in May or June. What a gorgeous place,
Bill just saw Roger Waters in his concert "The Wall" at the Tacoma Dome.
He said it was a "bucket list" to do event. Epic at it's least.
Been a very rainy, gray winter here this year, and we got a snow storm! I'll
post this video of that too for proof!
All in all, it's been a great year. Both of us are healthy, happy, and productive.
We continue to look forward to keeping in touch via FB. It has kept us close
to our family and friends.
Don't forget to swing by the "left" side and visit paradise, even when it's raining!
Love,
Bill and Linda
